My list of the best things to do in London for couples.
If I’m being honest, I had low expectations for London, but I was pleasantly surprised about how incredible London actually was. If you’re on the fence about visiting London, England, you shouldn’t be, and if you’re wondering whether you should visit, you definitely should.

Things To Do In London For Couples
There is a lot to do while in London for couples and friends alike from markets to roaming the streets of Chinatown. Or hanging out at one of the popular hotels in London like Hoxton.
Where To Stay In London For Couples
The Hoxton is a great option for first-time visitors to London. It’s a trendy hotel in Shoreditch. Lots of local restaurants, including curry houses within walking distance. Old Street tube station is just blocks away, so it made getting from point A to point B easier.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but no surprise there, right?
On holiday we routinely change hotels to get a different feel of a city and what it has to offer.
We moved on over to The Hari in the Knightsbridge neighborhood. The Hari is a little gem of luxury! It’s within walking distance of some popular attractions and many luxury boutique stores.
Take A Walking Tour
Take a free walking tour to see the highlights of London with Sandemans New Europe. If you are looking for ways to cut costs on your travels, a free walking tour is a great option. There are a few different group tours to choose from but they are all guided tours which also gives you an opportunity to ask your guide about recommended hotspots around the city or good local dining.
Be sure to tip your guide at the end of the tour!
London Street Art
If you are into street art Alternative London Walking Tours is another great option. The tour highlights local artists and some history behind the evolution of-the-art scene.
Take A Food Tour
Take a food tour and try some food items London is known for, like fish and chips, an English breakfast or a gin distillery in London.
Afternoon Tea
Is it even possible to visit London without an afternoon tea experience? If you want to enjoy a true British experience, afternoon tea is a great British tradition to do this.
We got all dolled up and headed to Claridge’s for champagne afternoon tea. Plan for a few hours of eating a variety of tea sandwiches, scones, pastries and a plethora of teas to select from.

British Museum

The British Museum is one of the best museums we have ever entered, so much so we spent two evenings trying to see as much as we could.
How many exhibits are in the British Museum, you ask? According to the museum, there is a minimum of 8 million pieces.
Is entry to the British Museum free
Yes, entry into the museum is free. However you want to see a special exhibition like we did there is a charge.
What tube stop is the British Museum
From Hoxton we got off on the Holborn station and walked to the museum from there. There are plenty of signs that will guide you to the museum.
Harrods

Just think of luxury! Any and every luxury brand you can think of is here. If you love to shop top end brands, this is the place for you. If not, it’s still a pretty cool place to browse and a good place to have lunch (for a large fee 🙂 ).
Buckingham Palace

The home of the Queen.
Most visit Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony, but it’s also known around the world for royal celebrations.
Currently Buckingham Palace is closed to visitors until further notice. The usual visiting schedule to see the inside of the palace is July- August and September- October, opening at 0930 with last admission at 1615.
You can stroll through Hyde Park and head on over to Buckingham Palace.
Tower Bridge
The Tower Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in the world. The views are absolutely stunning. It’s a great place to stroll and take pictures.
The bridge crosses the Thames River and the Tower of London, a World Heritage Site is nearby. You can also view the Tower Bridge by a Thame River cruise.

Covent Garden
If you’re looking to do a pub crawl, some entertainment and/or shopping at Covent Garden is the place to be. Plenty of restaurants around and street performers too.
From Covent Garden, you can make your way to Soho and get lost! Soho is even better at night.

The London Eye is a large beautiful Ferris Wheel, it’s actually one of London’s most famous attractions. It’s on the South Bank of the River Thames. Perfect for things to do in London for couples.
How long does the London Eye take?
It takes about 30 minutes to complete and while you’re riding the Ferris Wheel, you will see other popular sites such as the House of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
We did not purchase tickets in advance to ride. We played it by ear and picked a night we wanted to go.
What is the best time to ride the London Eye?
I would definitely say sunset is the best time to ride the London Eye.
Brick Lane
If you are looking for some rich history and jaw dropping street art, Brick Lane is for you. It’s in Shoreditch, where you will find the Old Spitalfield Market with lots of gems and some delicious curry houses on almost every corner.
Is Brick Lane Worth Visiting?
Absolutely! As I stated before Brick Lane has a very rich culture and there is also a ton to do while in the area, especially on the weekend. There’re pubs to try, restaurants and cafes and lots of little shops that aren’t your everyday label.
Explore London At Night
Last but not least, I would say explore London at night. There is so much to do and see. The beauty of London, the people, restaurants neighborhoods like Soho and Chinatown.
