1. Count and Clip Cards

Counting is an essential skill for preschoolers, and these Count and Clip Cards make it fun and interactive! With cute autumn-themed images like pumpkins, apples, and cozy sweaters, these count and clip cards will make learning a little more fun. They can practice counting from 1 to 10 as they use clothespins or paper clips to “clip” the correct number on each card.

How to Use:

  • Print the Cards: Download, print, and laminate the cards for durability and longevity. Then cut them apart.
  • Gather Supplies: You’ll need some clothespins or mini clips and scissors to cut the cards apart. My son preferred just to circle the numbers, so that’s an option too, just use markers.
  • Activity: Kids will count the images on each card and clip the correct number. For example, if there are ten pumpkins, they would clip the number 10. It’s a hands-on activity that enhances fine motor skills while reinforcing counting concepts.

Benefits:

  • Counting and number recognition.
  • Develops fine motor skills.
  • Encourages independent learning.

Not only are these activities great for skill-building, but they’re also a convenient option for us busy parents. You can easily take these cards on the go or use them as a quiet time activity at home. Plus, they’re reusable so you can use them year after year!

2. Grateful Tree

As we approach Thanksgiving, it’s the perfect time to teach preschoolers about gratitude and you’ll find two ways to do that. Picture this: your little ones sitting around a table, eagerly coloring in sunbeams and writing down things they’re thankful for on each one. Maybe it’s their family, their favorite toy, or even that weird-looking white squirrel they saw at the park last week. The possibilities are endless! As they add each sunbeam to the sun, they’ll be building not only fine motor skills but also a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the world around them. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for them to practice writing and spelling in a fun and engaging way.

Then there’s the Grateful Tree. With this interactive activity, they’ll find icons like “mom”, “grandpa”, “my dog” and “my toys” that they can add to their pretty green tree. If they want to change what they are thankful for from day to day just switch out the icons for something else, like being thankful for the park. Let them reflect on all the things they are grateful for. You’ll find 21 done-for-you icons.

How to Use:

  • Print the Tree Template and Sun Beam Pieces: Give your preschooler the tree and sunbeams and let them decide which one they would like to do. Maybe they might want to do both.
  • Add Leaves and Beams: Print the “leaves” and sunbeams. Let them fill the tree with their grateful icons. For the sunbeams, have your kids write or draw what they are thankful for on each one, and glue it together to create a sun with beams.
  • Gather Supplies: You’ll need glue, crayons or markers, and scissors for the sunbeams. For the Grateful Tree, you’ll have to laminate your tree and the icons, velcro dots, and scissors to cut out your icons.

Benefits:

  • Encourages gratitude and reflection.
  • Inspires creativity through art and writing.
  • Opportunity to talk about family, friends, and their community.

3. Fall Maze

Can they catch the fallen leaves? You’ll find an easy maze in this fall preschool activity pack that will challenge your little one’s problem-solving skills. Mazes are also a fun way for preschoolers to develop hand-eye coordination.

How to Use:

  • Print the Maze: Give them a printed maze.
  • Tools for Navigation: Kids can use crayons or markers to trace their way through the maze.
  • Challenge: Encourage them to count the number of turns they take.

Benefits:

  • Enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Helps with fine motor skills by drawing.
  • Offers a fun challenge that encourages persistence.

4. Fall Bingo

Bingo is a classic game that’s perfect for groups! I’ve spiced things up with fall-themed images like pumpkins, apple pie, and leaves. Let’s see if your preschooler can mark off each square and shout “Bingo!”.

How to Use:

  • Print the Bingo Cards: Everyone receives a card with a mix of fall images.
  • Calling Cards: Write down each item on pieces of paper, walk around your neighborhood or around the house to find the items.
  • Play: As you call out images, kids mark them on their cards. The first to complete a row, column, or full card shouts “Bingo!”

Benefits:

  • Reinforces vocabulary and recognition of fall-related items.
  • Allows for social interaction and teamwork.
  • If you’re calling out the images, it’s a great way to practice listening skills.

These fall preschool activities come as 2 PDF files containing 12 pages to include the cover page.
