Below I have listed 10 of the best free apps for new and busy moms. As a first-time mother it took some time to adjust to navigating our new lifestyle and trying to keep up with the day to day. I searched for any and everything to make our lives easier. This list was created with new parents and busy families in mind!
Keeping track of all things medical best free apps for new moms
Ovia Pregnancy
This is the best app to use after finding out you are pregnant It provides weekly education regarding what to expect when you are expecting, during each week of pregnancy. It also shows you realistic visuals of your baby each week. Size is compared to fruit, vegetables, and animals. There is a ton of educational articles and calendars for organizing. You can also look up a variety of foods and medications to check if it is safe to take during pregnancy.
Ovia Parenting
Ovia parenting moves you into parenthood, providing you with a wealth of information from milestones, vaccines, first foods, teething, motor skills, activity & play and so much more. It includes tips on how to navigate home and family life with a new child. This is one of the best free apps for new moms.
Baby Nursing
I used this app a lot to keep track of feedings and what breast Joakim fed on last. It can all become difficult to keep track of when you are sleep deprived. You can also keep track of measurements, pediatrician appointments, diapers, vaccines, bath time and any medications you may give.
Growth: Baby & Child charts
The app uses WHO (World Health Organization) and CDC (Center for Disease Control) growth charts to plot your child’s growth and calculate percentiles. A preterm chart is also available.
WebMD baby
There are 6 tracker tools within this app. Feeding, nursing, sleep, diaper, growth and a baby book that allows you to keep track of memories. You can also sync the tracker with others.
The productive mom
Cozi Family Organizer
There is a family calendar to keep track of the whole family’s schedule and you can set reminders, so no one misses a thing. There is also a shopping/to do list within this app. The best part of the shopping list feature is grocery items can be added by others in “real time” just in case you forgot to add it. I am a recipe follower, so having an option to organize recipes in an app is a bonus. You can organize recipes and plan them out onto the calendar.
Out of Milk
Out of Milk allows you to create a shopping list, pantry list and a to do list. The pantry list allows you to inventory anything, so you always know what is in your pantry.
The mom who loves to save
Flipp
With Flipp you get weekly ads, deals and coupons from various stores. Some stores include but are not limited to Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Costco.
For the on the go mom
Playground Buddy
This app allows you to search for playgrounds near by even if you are in another country. It provides you with directions to the playground and you can create and save a favorites list.
Flush- Toilet Finder & Map
This app helps you find a public bathroom or restroom. The bonus for this app is you can find bathrooms all around the world.
Tip: 4 surprise body changes after pregnancy-for the new mom!
