4 Surprise Body Changes After Pregnancy

4 surprising body changes. Postpartum day 1.

Four body changes after pregnancy which may surprise you. Our bodies go through a lot after given birth some we expect, and others may surprise us. Here is my list of the most dramatic changes.

Big feet

The first of 4 surprise body changes after pregnancy was a larger shoe size. My feet grew a whole size larger!  I did not even come close to guessing this would happen.  According to some studies I have read, the hormone changes loosen joints and ligaments which makes the foot structure more pliable.

The butt

I have only ever had a speed bump to begin with. What has happened now is downright shameful!  That is all!

Breast

While nursing I needed to wear two sports bras when exercising.  After 25 months of breastfeeding (I will discuss that journey later) it is as if someone poked a needle in my breast and let all the air out!  This probably should not have come as a huge surprise considering our breast began to change early on during pregnancy it should really be expected for another change after nursing.  For some of us our breast go back to normal size and I have had friends tell me they felt their breast got even smaller.

Hair shedding

We all know there is a great possibility our hair can shed because of the hormone shift.  I was not exactly ready for the severe amount of shedding that took place.  I am talking clumps of hair falling out anytime it was combed or brushed and thin edges for months. MONTHS!! Because of this two years later I have a shorter hairstyle.

Hair loss is one of 4 body changes after pregnancy I was not expecting. This photo shows long hair prior to the start of shedding.

Tip:  Embrace the changes. Own them! Accept them! You delivered a whole human!

What about you? Any surprise body changes after pregnancy?
